ABOUT
Jainil Mehta originally from Mumbai, India, began his dance journey at the age of five, performing in his living room. By building short phrases with his house’s help at such an early age ignited his passion for dance composition, direction, and performance. Today, he is a company dancer with Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company and is also freelance teaching, creating, and performing.
Prior to moving to Los Angeles for college, he trained at Shiamak Davar International in Mumbai, India for thirteen years. Jainil graduated Summa Cum Laude and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance with a Discovery Scholars Distinction. Additionally, he has acquired a variety of skills including budgeting, accounting, entrepreneurship, stage lighting, tools for digital design, sound editing, motion picture cinematography, and video editing, to name a few. Furthermore, he has learned and performed works by esteemed choreographers like William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Jodie Gates, Barak Marshall, Alejandro Cerrudo, Dwight Rhoden, and Matthew Neenan

CLASSES

Classes are designed in series, workshops, intensives, and programs depending on the time in each city. Whether it’s a long format or just one of class, Jainil’s challenging choreographies are simplified by the way he teaches and breaks down movement.

In these workshops, which are 2 hour long choreography classes, emphasize a short 45 sec to 1 min choreography of a particular music in J-Flow Contemporary, J-Flow Classical & Bollywood styles.
On the other hand, intensives, series, and programs are long format training sessions designed to improve and grow in your craft. The emphasis is on personalizing your experience with the form and being more reflective, interactive, and immersive.
